Place Value/Rounding

We either round to the nearest 10 or to the nearest 100.  We do round to the nearest 10 within 100.  Here is a couple of examples using a number line to round.  Click on photo to enlarge.

Addition

  There are two ways that students have learned to add two and three digit numbers.  The first way is the place value method.  The other method is the number line method.  These are new methods this year.  They are being used to help students not only get the right answer but to also understand what the numbers mean.

Subtraction

    Here is an example of how we are teaching subraction using a number line.  This is new to everyone.  I had to divide the video into two parts in order to load it.  The sound isn't great but at least you can see the method.

Multiplication Fact Strategies

We are working on our multiplication facts.  We are doing his by learning strategies that will help us find the answer.  Strategies learned so far:
