Fall is Here!
October 1, 2018
October brings cooler weather (I hope) and bags filled with candy. It also brings behavior challenges in the classroom. At this time of year, kids are comfortable with their teachers and have a tendency to relax a little too much in the classroom. Please remind your child to follow the directions of the teacher the first time. This is beginning to become an issue. Letters will be sent out in the next couple of weeks to individual students addressing individual issues.
We worked on non-fiction text structure last nine weeks and now it is time to use that knowledge in our writing. We will write informational articles based on our own research. It should be a fun project.

Students should be reading 30 minutes almost every day.
Have your child read aloud to you a few minutes every other night. Listen to see if they read with expression and at a fast enough pace. It should sound smooth, not choppy.
